Thought Record πŸ’­

 

The thought record allows clients to challenge thoughts and formulate an alternative thought in the NiceDay app. 
The client will be helped to be more aware of thoughts, the influence of thoughts and to formulate alternative, more helpful thoughts.

Create to-do: Thought record

  • In the toolbar, select:  Exercise,  Select Thought record
  • Choose Due by, a push Notification yes/no and if needed a recurrency

 

Elements of the Thought Record 

The Thought Record consists of three steps. The client can save in between steps to continue later. 
 

Step 1

The client can enter the following fields:  

  • Event 
  • Feeling (Happy, Angry, Scared, Sad, Ashamed)
  • Thoughts 
  • Behaviour 
  • Consequence 


Step 2

The client chooses the most important thought to challenge and determines credibility on a scale of 0-100%.  

Seven questions follow, the client has a answer at least one: 

  • 1a. What evidence makes this thought true? 
    1b. What evidence does not make this thought true? 
  • 2. What is the worst thing that can happen? Am I capable of getting over that?
  • 3. What are the pros and cons of this thought?
  • 4. Is there another view/approach I haven't thought of yet?
  • 5. What would I say to a friend or colleague who has a similar thought?
  • 6. If a close friend, family member or colleague knows I have this thought, what would they say to me?
  • 7. How would I think about this after a week/month/year?


Step 3

  • Client formulates Alternative thought, and fills in Credibility with scale of 0-100%. 
  • Client sees the Former thought, and again fills in Credibility with scale of 0-100%.
  • Result: Difference in Credibility of the Former thought before and after completing the Thought Record. 
    Alternative thought is shown again.
